Unearthing Genesis 1:1 | Part 8

The Everlasting Gospel
Truly biblical – Biblical Cosmology is a matter of faith. One of believing God’s word as it is. It is a test unto all those who profess to believe and uphold the Bible, and a firm foundation unto those who walk in it (by faith, not by sight).1 God’s people must be standing firm upon the more sure word2 if they are to endure steadfast unto the end. It will be a light and a safeguard unto them, that they may neither walk in darkness nor draw back unto perdition.3
Now, brothers and sisters, let us consider together the Three Angel’s Messages.
The First Angel
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Revelation 14:6–7
This is the principal, end-time gospel message of salvation that JEHOVAH has appointed His people to deliver to a perishing world. These are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith [testimony] of Jesus,4 which is the spirit of prophecy.5 The same do verily “worship Him that made [the firmament called] heaven, and [the dry-land called] earth, and [the gathering together of the waters called] the sea[s], and the fountains of waters,”—for from the fountains of God’s blessing, and the fountains of God’s word they drink of the water of life.6
Thus, the question must sincerely be asked:—can those who are mistaken regarding Genesis 1 meet the qualifications required to fully preach the three angel’s messages? Should teaching that contradicts the Bible be proclaimed by those whom God will have purposed to preach the everlasting gospel, perfect in truth? Can this message carry with it even the smallest fragments and remnants of heliocentrism?
Nay, brethren, but by God’s grace, those appointed shall be wise in understanding,7 and be perfect in righteousness. We are convinced that all those who have received the love of the truth should also be endowed by the Holy Ghost with a fuller knowledge of the creation, even according to all that has been revealed in the holy scriptures.8 Only those that have this understanding can give greater glory to the Creator of heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters,—and teach others to do the same.
Reformation Needed to Preach the Message
We have acknowledged that the “traditional interpretation” (the “natural flow” or “initial unformed-unfilled” view) of Genesis 1:1 as the first event and creative act of the narrative is in conflict with the Bible. JEHOVAH is not the creator of chaos and confusion, nor of darkness. In holding to that position, we were in danger of being found wanting for our contradiction to the Bible’s teachings. We were in dire need of reform, and we believe that God, at this time, is restoring truly biblical – Biblical Cosmology to His people, even for such a time as this.9
The Genesis 1:1 First Event view was developed in attempt to reconcile the heliocentric globe model with the Genesis 1 account. Had the proponents of heliocentrism accepted “the heaven” as the firmament and “the earth” as the dry-land, as they are defined in-context, they would have had to give up their cherished belief in the heliocentric globe (which the Bible condemns). But instead, they rejected the definitions given by scripture, and subjectively defined “the heaven and the earth” as the raw, disordered elements of the celestial bodies and terraqueous globe, which then becomes associated with “the deep” in verse two.
Now simply substituting the heliocentric globe model with that of a geocentric flat earth with a solid dome, whilst retaining everything else that the First Event view espouses does not, and cannot produce truly biblical – Biblical Cosmology. For there remains an entire surrounding theological system that was produced solely for the purpose of wresting the narrative to support the heliocentric globe. This substitutionary approach has circumvented the necessity of reexamining the whole system in light of the Bible’s teachings on creation, and consequently, the product is full of the debris and covered in the residue of the catastrophe of heliocentrism. Truly, as it is written, “a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.”10 It must all be hewn down, and cast into the fire.
For Such a Time as This
Ancient truth is now being unearthed after having been buried deep in the murky, terraqueous slough of the heliocentric paradigm for centuries. The traditional interpretation was the best that protestantism was able to muster whilst ensconced in heliocentrism. But behold, God has commanded the light to shine out of darkness, and into our hearts,11 to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in revealing the truth to His people of the true creation by His word.
The Second and Third Angel’s
8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Revelation 14:8–11
There is no question that heliocentrism and the works thereof are part of the wine of Babylon. The Genesis 1:1 First Event view is no exception, and merely dispensing the globe from the interpretation does not change that. Even now is God calling His people out from Babylon,12 but those who refuse to take heed to the call in totality stand in conflict to the everlasting gospel. God’s people must wholly come out from Babylon without partiality or hypocrisy.
When God gives new light, that all men might receive it, the many will always assemble against it as though it were confusion,—which “say concerning darkness, It is light, and say concerning light, It is darkness”.13 They that put light for darkness are not heeding the heavenly calling to come out of Babylon. But the righteous few “shall know the truth, and the truth shall make [them] free.”14 We are not of those which say that certain truths of God are not salvational. Rejecting light from Heaven is a salvational issue, and as a wise writer once wrote, “[to be] almost but not wholly saved, means to be not almost but wholly lost.”
Now as we saw in Part 6 and Part 7, Genesis 1:1 is most certainly concerned with the Sabbath. To remember the Sabbath is to remember God’s works of old (in the beginning), whereby we believe and understand by faith “that the worlds were framed by the word of God”.15 The Sabbath is the sign that we believe, by faith, that “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth”,16 that He rested on the seventh day,17 and that the works were finished by His word. Wherefore, brethren, there should be no doubt that this issue also pertains to the second and third angel’s messages. And if the second, then the fourth also.18
The Verdict
We believe in truth that “By the word of [JEHOVAH] were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.”19 And as we saw, brethren, those who shall ask the doubtful question, “Where is the promise of [Christ’s] coming?”,20 are even the same who willing are ignorant that by the word of God the heaven[s] and the earth were created,21 and “by the same word are kept in store” unto the day of fiery judgment.22 This group prophesied by Peter, whilst evidently believing in creation in part, will have refused to stand upon the firm foundation of creation by the word of God.
How is it that this foundation will be willingly ignored? Those who reject the inspired record that JEHOVAH made the firmament called “Heaven” on the second day by His word, and by that same word commanded the dry-land called “Earth” to appear on the third day, are those who “willingly are ignorant… that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water”. Therefore, we can say assuredly that these same cannot be counted among them appointed to say for the last time (with a loud voice),—
Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Revelation 14:7
Wherefore, brethren, let us not be of those which are willingly ignorant, but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.23
God bless,
Brandon
